Homemade Pizza
Pizza Dough:
1 Tablespoon yeast
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
1 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons oil
2 1/2 cups flour
Dissolve yeast in the warm water. Stir in remaining ingredients. Beat vigorously with 20 strokes. Let rest for 10 minutes.
Sauce:
Either use pre-made pizza or spaghetti sauce, or make an easy version of your own by combining:
8 oz. tomato sauce
2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon instant minced garlic
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Roll out crust onto greased pizza pan. Spread sauce over crust, and top with mozzarella cheese and any other desired toppings (pepperoni, sausage, tomatoes, ham, pineapple, green peppers, olives, etc.)
Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes--until cheese is just light brown.
